Where to find the best coffee in London?
Alex | July 3, 2022
If you live and work in London, or if you’re just visiting, there are lots of coffee shops to choose from. In fact, London boasts the most coffee shops in the UK, with a staggering 3,718 cafés.
Our coffee-loving team who are based in London at our headquarters have rounded up their favourite coffee shops to share with you. So whether you’re after a quick cup on the go, or you want to relax and enjoy a unique coffee experience in the capital, we’ve got the perfect place.
Monmouth Coffee Company
Monmouth Coffee is a coffee roaster, retailer and wholesaler based in London. It was founded in 1978 and its flagship coffee shop remains open over 40 years later in Covent Garden. We love this little place in Covent Garden but you can also visit them in The Borough. On Fridays and Saturdays, they open their roastery in Maltby Street, Bermondsey where you can pick up a takeaway coffee.
They offer a wide range of different speciality coffees. Plus they buy coffee in only small lots meaning their menu is fresh and always changing. The team are committed to sustainability. In fact, Monmouth Coffee is one of the first coffee shops to stop serving single-use paper cups. In March 2022, they introduced a new approach where you must either take your own reusable cup or you can rent one of theirs. Omotesando Koffee
If iced coffee is your thing, there’s only one place to go. Head to Japanese boutique coffee shop, Omotesando Koffee in Fitzrovia. Since opening in 2018, this pared-back, minimalist-style space is a hotspot for hipsters and coffee aficionados alike. The Fitzrovia shop is their first European branch, joining other sites in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok and has gained somewhat of a cult following. Simply enter their name online and you’ll be met with rave reviews.
Their signature drink is the “Doppio” which is an iced cappuccino and it’s perfect to enjoy on warm sunny days in the city. It’s capped with a layer of bubble foam and topped with cocoa powder giving it a smooth, creamy, silky finish.
