Environmental Contribution Charge (ECC)
What is the Environmental Contribution Charge that has started appearing on all FreshGround Invoices? Read on to learn more about what the charge is and why we have started adding it to orders.
Industry-wide challenges
It’s becoming harder and harder to be a responsible business in the current climate. Seeing as coffee only grows in the far reaches of the world, our supply chain feels every sharp uptick in oil, commodities and environmental responsibility costs.
Instead of cutting corners, or hiding price rises in our products and services, we want to be transparent and open. As such, we have introduced an Environmental Contribution Charge of 2.55% per invoice.
What this means
In the face of significantly increased operational costs, this modest request has been introduced to help us continue delivering the high level of service our customers expect. In addition to compliance and operational overheads, funding from the Environmental Contribution Charge allows us to:
Maintain
response times
Stay responsive and get to customer sites without compromising on speed and delivery time.
Reduce your
carbon footprint
Invest in greener logistics and deliveries, such as bike couriers and electric vehicles.
Build a
better industry
Continue the work with coffee farms to preserve natural resources and support workers’ families.
As ever, our priority remains the quality of service we provide to you. The Environmental Contribution Charge allows us to implement cost increases that are shared fairly and transparently, rather than being hidden from you within standard pricing.
If you have any questions or would like to understand more about how it applies to your account, our team will always be happy to discuss this with you.
